"I bought this bed for my Great Dane puppy so she would have a comfortable bed to grow into. I was looking for something comfortable for her, good looking for me, and reasonably priced. I found two out of three. It is hard to find x-large beds and when I found this one I was pleased except for the few reviews that stated there was not enough fill in the bed, assuming this would be taken care of if this was a consistant complaint.. She does not seem to want to sleep in the bed, I don't think it is comfortable for her. Because of the lack of fill in the bed it is like she is sleeping on the floor. I does not look anything like the photo advertising the bed and does not support her large size. The bed works on many levels, it is just lacking on fill and therefore comfort for her, which is the most important."

"I used the measurement guide to order mine, and it is way bigger than advertised. I have a 135-140lb Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and the XL makes her look like a lap dog! Also, I measured a spot to see if it would fit before purchasing it, and it did according to the measurements stated, but it is actually WAY too big. Consider this when ordering!! Overall it is a wonderful bed and has a nice look. It does not look ratty like other dog beds, and my dog LOVES it!!"

"i am a dog trainer and rescue foster parent, and I have gone through uncountable numbers of different types of dog beds. I use indoor beds, outdoor beds, cots, blankets, etc. I wanted a high-quality, good looking bed for an active, nervous German Shepherd who must dig and scratch every time that he lays down. I've had beds with fleece in the middle that he's scratched right through. This bed is big enough, soft enough and snuggly enough that Mike doesn't have the need to really dig in it, yet the fabric is dense enough to withstand the times he just must scratch. I have "dead" dog beds laying around, and this bed is going on two years old, still bright and clean as the day I got it. Washes beautifully. This is the first review I've ever written for a product. I would HIGHLY recommend this bed...to any dog or dog lover."

"My dogs love this bed. I have two dogs, one is 35 lbs and the other is 55 lbs. They both sleep on it together, which makes it all the more great a purchase because they're so darn cute! We ordered the XL, and it has definitely been worth the cost. Cleaning it is easy – just unzip the bolster and the bed and the cover comes right off.
We have the light brown one so appearance-wise it goes with everything. It's really nice in our living room and sits perfectly right beside the fireplace. But really the dogs are the true customers and they love it!"

"I actually ordered 2 of the deep dish beds for my Rhodesian Ridgeback - due to an ordering mix up they arrived about a week apart. Coming out of the box it looks very fluffy. And that is all it is "fluff" , because after a week the "fluff" isn't as fluffy. I received second one and contemplated returning both. But the quality of the bed is great. The size and color is just what I was looking for. So I will go to my local craft store and purchase some additional "fluff". Disappointed."

"This is the second deep dish bed I have bought from Orvis. I ordered the light brown one last year for Christmas for my mom's lab and she loved it, even with the less than desired stuffing/padding. When I saw the new fabric choices, I ordered the paisley for my Vizsla and it had twice as much stuffing as the first one. I assume this is due to all the customer complaints. I was very impressed to see the improvement of stuffing/padding.
My three star rating is for the fabric illusion. The picture shows vibrant tones of gold and orange outlined in deep, rich brown. However, what showed up on my door was a dull, lifeless pattern of sage and maroon. This is no doubt due to the lighting, but disappointing none the less. So BUYER BEWARE, if you order the paisley pattern it does not look like this photo. Go check out the Orvis Dog's Nest to get a true image of what this pattern actually looks like. You can see that the coloring is completely different."

"I have two Scottish terriers who have gone through numerous beds at least 2 a year from various other companies they think it's fun to run and jump on the bed like a trampoline, and turn it over and play. This is the best bed they have ever had and they are hard on the bed, they flip it over they jump on it, they walk around with it and it looks brand new. I will be purchasing another one of these to replace the bed in my bed room, it's made of stee but really soft to sleep onl."

"We have a 3yr old - 75lb Labradoodle that loves to snuggle with us in the middle of the night. We ordered the Large and have tried numerous beds to keep her off the bed but nothing has worked until now. I was a little concerned about the fill amount after reading several reviews and noted it on my order. Orvis added an extra line item for high-loft polyfill at no extra charge and when the bed arrived, it was extremely plump!! This bed looks and feels luxurious... we've even found our 2 yr old son snuggling up with his doggy from time to time."

"I have purchased 5 of these for my 2 Great Danes and they love them. The covers are holding up very well with many washes. My only complaint is that the liner is not sold separately. I have two beds that the dogs have gotten the zippers open and have torn holes in the liners."

"I bought the medium size of this bed for my puppy airedale expecting her to 'grow' into it. When the bed arrived I was really pleased as it is very well made and looks lovely in my living room. However, my puppy (about 42 lbs now) already seems to have outgrown the bed - the length is fine but the width could do with being 2 or 3 inches wider. I found this rather surprising so I measured the width of the bed and found that the measurements given include the bolster which I had not appreciated when ordering the bed so be aware. Don't be put off it is a great bed just order the right size - I should have ordered the large !!!"

"I purchased an X-large for my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. The encased filling separates and becomes bunchy. The cover washes well, but without the proper filling it looks and I suspect feels like the surface of the moon. If you want your dog to have a soft but firm bed, do not purchase this item."

"I got this bed for my younger dog's first birthday - my dogs are about 50 lbs each - one is a lab mix and the other is possibly a flat coat retriever mix. At first I thought the bed was too small for two dogs (I got the large size), but it turned out to be the perfect size. They both love the bed and use it all the time. The rectangular shape is more practical than the rounded theraputic bolster bed (which we also have). We have had to wash the cover and it is pretty easy to get it off and on - and it laundered just fine. I will be ordering another one of these beds for the upstairs - as well as a small one for my 18 year old 5 lb cat, who "takes over" the bed at times, leaving the dogs to either sleep around her or on the floor! I've been trying to get a photo of the two dogs and Sophia on the bed - and sometimes there's another cat squeezing in. This bed is worth the price. The stuffing is very fluffy and it has stayed that way for the few months we've had the bed. I really recommend this product."

"I have a 26 lb. cocker spaniel, Tucker, and the small bed fits him perfectly. When the bed came in he immediately went on it and fell right asleep. Its's a great looking bed, and Tucker loves sleeping on it. The only complaint that I have is that when he sleeps on one side of the bed more than the other, the bed tends to lean a little bit, other than that, the bed is great!"

"product came very quickly, super quality ,fab name stitching.The XL IS ENORMOUS IT HAS SPREAD TO 62X52"(size 57x41) the bolster is flat and the labs are unable to rest there heads on it. I agree with previous review that the sage is indeed a strange brown colour! I would however recommend the dog gates they are truly stylish"
