Senyo's Sculpin

Senyo's Sculpin

The use of the slimy sculpin as a baitfish for trout dates back to the mid 1920's when it was favorite bait under the name "cockatouch" for brook trout in the Nipigon Canada waters. This fly pattern nicely emulates these prehistoric fish that are a significant part of the lake trout, brook trout, salmon, and northern pike diet. When fly fishing cold water up north, a good sculpin pattern is a must. Color, Olive.Brook trout flies available in sizes: 4, 6, 8.

A great Fly from a great teacher!!, February 11, 2008
By: flyfishingbum from Great Lakes

"I booked a winter steelhead trip this last december with Mr. Senyo, I really wanted to learn how to swing flies on these smaller tributaries and be successful. I had read numerous reports about how swung flies don't work in the cold, but rest assurred Greg got me casting correctly and into fish; I knew I was a fool for believing everything I read. The Senyo sculpin is now fully loaded in my fly boxes it was a hot ticket on a rather cold day, I would not be on any trib without them. thanks for a great day and a fantastic fly pattern."
