Matt's Midge

An excellent and very visible midge fly pattern, due to the white Antron wing. Very small, this dry fly can imitate a number of smaller insects and midges. Tip: When fishing a midge hatch, fish two dries. Pat Dorsey, Orvis Endorsed Guide of the Year often fishes two midge dries together depending on the hatch. As an example, he often fishes a Griffith's Gnat trailed by a Matt's Midge in the right conditions. You can vary sizes that way to ensure you're matching the correct hatch size.
