Comfortable and Flexible,

"The advantage of the Comfy Cone is that it is more comfortable for pets. With the hard plastic cones, my large Golden Retriever frequently jammed his way through doorways and knocked down items with his "hat." The softness and flexibility of the comfort cone allows him to move and sleep more comfortably. The only drawback is that my dog is very large with an extra big head and neck. I bought the extra large cone and extended it as far as possible, which left strips of velcro exposed on the outside. Although generally not a problem, on occasion my dog has lightly velcroed himself to the carpet (just noisy when he gets up) and sometimes his long fur works its way into the neck velcro. I suggest the manufacturer provide a strip of backing material to cover any exposed velcro due to size adjustments, plus create a fold-over nylon tab at the neck. Also, the anchor loops are a bit small for wide collars. That being said, I think this is an excellent and welcomed product , a vast improvement over plastic cones. I highly recommend it."

"When it came time for our beloved Zoe to be spayed, I wanted to make it as easy and comfortable as possible for her. I knew she would have the best veterinarian to perform the surgery. He would also do a gastroplexy at the same time which prevents gastric torsion which can prove to be fatal for deep chested breeds. I have noticed the plastic collars usually worn after surgery until the stiches were removed. Zoe is our first female dog and so of course I checked out Orvis dog catalog to see what they had in the way of collars. This collar was great..very soft, easy to take on and off, and could be bent back to make eating easier for her. She didn't seem to mind the collar at all. An added bonus for her, I slept on her large Orvis bed with her the first night!"

"Our golden retriever has recently has problems with itching and licked her fur off and scratched and bit herself, eventually getting a skin infection. She quickly learned that by slamming the plastic cone into either icy snow banks or door frames, she could split them and get free. With this collar, she's comfortable, can't tear it and, for the most part, is not able to lick the healing skin. We had to leave her at a kennel for a few days, and they were very impressed with how well she could eat, drink and take walks with it. It does begin to smell after awhile, but it would seem to respond to washing it. I would recommend this over the cones the vets have, the cost is about the same or less and the durability and acceptance is far superior."

"This is the only E-collar I've used that has lasted more than a few days (and I've bought several). My lab mix has worn this collar for 2 weeks now. The licking granuloma that she has suffered with for 2 yrs is almost completely healed. It fits snuggly. It does not need any additional anchoring. The collar has kept it's shape well. We are super relieved that this problem is finally under control!"
