If your dog is prone to chewing on wooden gates, this is the solution. Similar in design to our popular Hardwood Door Frame Containment gates, it's crafted in solid wrought iron for incredible strength and durability. Hinged locking door panel allows you to pass through easily. Friction mounted, it installs without tools. No drilling required. Use 5" extension for wider openings. In black.

"finally a gate that withstands the chewing of a bull terrier!!!! although the gate is a little pricey it is well worth every penny. we have gone thru every wooden gate ever made and regret not seeing and buying this gate sooner. our old gates looked like they were attacked by sharks and made into driftwood. our little bullie tries to gnaw on this gate and still has not managed to even put a scratch on it. thanks for making such a great product available. we will be purchasing more very soon!"

"Finally, a pet gate that stops my yellow lab from escaping. This is a sturdy, attractive gate but I had to make some adjustments to make it fit where I needed it. A slightly wider, taller version would have been absolutely perfect."

Great Product,

"We just received this gate and it is perfect for our home. Our two German Shepards can't knock it over, although one likes to stand on the top of it, and the ability to walk through the door rather than hurdle a wooden gate is great.
I defintely would recommend this to a friend and just ordered another one for another spot in the house.
Thanks"

Great Gates!,

"We first ppurchased a doowray gate then a hallway gate. They were unbelievably easy to install without tools in just a few seconds. Our chocolate lab and three golden retrievers had managed to knock down or break all our previous gates, plastic, wood, etc. these metal gates are chew proof and stay sturdily in place. With verticle bars, they have little ability to give the jumpers a foothold, so they dogs stay where we want them. They were pretty expensive but well worth it, and they look great. Kudos to Orvis for offering these great products."

BUY THIS if you need a doggie door!,
January 17, 2010

"This is a GREAT doggie door! I had borrowed a spring loaded wooden one temporarily and my little pup managed to knock it over! Being made of metal is the best feature and the simple locking closure is the next best. It is also very light weight for being metal - easy to move, adjust, etc. It did not fit perfectly at first because my doggie was small enough to squeeze through the sides, but I fixed that temporarily with little trouble. I would certainly recommend this doggie door. It works perfect now that she's a little bigger."

It works for me,
January 10, 2010

"I do Bulldog rescue and keep new dogs in my house every few weeks, so I need a dog gate that can keep dogs separated who aren't ready to be together. This gate works for that! It can't be chewed up, and stays in place when screwed in tight to the door frame. It is attractive enough for my taste. One complaint: The swing-through part fell off twice when I was closing it in a hurry, and a little spring fell out. I have not replaced the spring the second time, and the gate seems more stable."

poor fit,
January 6, 2010
By:
shanonfrom Peekskill, NY
"This is a very nice looking gate, but the description states the the hallway size fits openings up to 40". The doorway to our office is exactly 40" wide and this gate was not wide enough. To make it fit we would have had to put blocks in between the wall and gate. For the amount of money spent on this gate I expected the description to be accurate and the gate to fit. We are returning it. Sad, because it is a very good looking gate."

"I searched online at several sites for a gate that had a pass through to use in the house for our dogs. We decided on this one and are very pleased with our purchase. The gate is sturdy, attractive, and easy to take up and down."

"Thought this wouldb e great for our 34" door but involved machine screw "adaptors" to make it fit, unattractive and so not classy for the price. Returned and purchased and p;ain gate from another vendor."

Very Sturdy,

"I would chose the gates that Orvis sells that allows mounting by friction rubber pads that can be tighten against the wall. Freestanding models can be knocked over. Animal will be animals. So unpredictable."

"Have had this dog gate for a week and ordering another. I agree with the previous review that it would be good to have a taller size for larger dogs, but this works well and looks nice and seems sturdy."

"The gate is very well built and extremely solid. It's pretty much exactly what we were looking for. My only suggestion is that they make a tall version for bigger dogs."
