Polk's Dirty Rat

Polk's Dirty Rat

Rodent, rat, mouse; call it what you want, but this dry fly pattern can create some of the most fun you will ever have. Throw one of these at last light or into the night off the bank of a big rainbow or brown trout river, swim it with the current and you have the potential for some big fish and an explosive top-water take. Dry fly pattern in olive/brown. In size: 2.

"Tried the Dirty Rat in W. Texas, w/ not luck, but it will soon see the waters of the S. Louisiana swamps. Looks natural in the water. Head floating on top the water while the belly is below. More realistic than most that float whole body on top the water. Hopefully I have pictures to add after this trip. Great fly Sean!"

"Sean killed it with this fly! I have used it all over North Texas with great results and can't wait to travel with it. This is a fly that needs to be in every bass fly box"

"I use this fly to catch big bass right before the sun goes down on my local ponds. The fish love to crush it right before bedtime. Excellent fly"

Amazing - Simply Amazing., February 19, 2009
By: BassNTrout from Dallas

"This is my go to fly. I have had some amazing explosive takes with this fly. Both for bass and trout. The fly sits in the water film exactly like a live mouse/rat does. Head high, tail low- creating a wake. The marabou comes to life and undulates when pulled through the water.

Bass and large trout can resist it. Very highly recommend this fly- Buy it you wont be sorry. But the fish will."
