An Excellent Gift,
March 6, 2010

"I gave one with a stag handle as a gift, with the engraved initials and the year, as sort of an afterthought. I figured coming from Orvis the knife would be as good or better quality than those found in stores. However, having never owned a personalized folder myself, I wasn't sure how the engraved item would be received. As it turns out, the initials were the icing on the cake. As a rule, the things I would buy for myself tend to make good gifts for others (with the exception of that egg tempera print entitled: girl with a parrot, I gave to a girlfriend back in the 1970s), this knife definitely falls into that category; it makes an excellent gift."

This pocket knife is a gem,

"I received today the Col.Littleton #2 pocket knife. It's a real beauty with the Staghorn side pieces. It doesn't qualify for personalizaton by engraving or a brass plaque, and I don't think you'd want to mar the blade for a few initials. The other # 2 knives could be personalized, if Orvis offers this. The leather sheath and the presentation box are really quality goods, too. If you want to treat yourself to something special this is the special item. Markster"

Beautiful knife,

"Bought two a few months back, one for me and one for my dad for Father's Day. It's a beautiful knife and very well made. The blade is small, so there's only so many uses for it...but the size makes it nice for carrying in your pocket all the time. Makes nice gift and holds a sharp edge longer than expected. Not cheap, but really nice."
