Eating too fast can be unhealthy. Special cones in the center of this non-tip slow-eating dog food bowl force your dog to feed around them, thus slowing down the dining process. Made of die-cast aluminum with an antimicrobial coating. In brushed silver. Handwash.

"we have 2 very activie dogs, a lab and a German Shepherd, the bowls have slowed them down some the one complaint is that you have to be carfeul not to use a dish brush on the bowls, my husband cleaned both bowls with a regular dish brush and now there are scratches on the bowls which bother me"

It's supposed to slide! :-D,
January 24, 2010

"From what I read, hear, it's supposed to slide as it further slows your doggy down. Makes him work for it more....granted not too much so you don't have him exercising for his meal....if it's sliding too much just put like a bath mat underneath it. For the dog with too big of muzzle, these bowls can come in larger sizes. I love the metal version, very easy to clean. My dog used to get gassy build up (which could lead to the deadly GDV/twisting of the stomach) no more with this bowl! It slows her down, let's her enjoy her meal, tast her email, etc. Very easy to clean, use, etc. I highly reccomend this for any dog! It's much safer to have a dog eat slowly than fast!"

Great bowl,

"I have been wanting to get a bowl that helps my rat terrier slow down his eating. He eats so fast and I worry he will get sick. It's seconds and the food is gone. My beagle eats slower and enjoys her food. Well now with this bowl, she is done before him. It is great to see that. So it works! The bowl is of good construction but rubber feet like the other review said would be great so it doesn't slide on him."

Saved pups' lives,

"I have four miniature doxies, two of whom have had emergency stomach surgery from eating too fast. I bought the plastic version of these bowls first, and the pups chewed them up! These are perfect -- eating has slowed way down, and they can't be destroyed. They make a lot of noise, though, on a tiled kitchen floor. Rubber on the bottom would have made them perfect!"

"I have a lab who could not get all the food from the narrow places. His muzzle wouldn't fit. So, he couldn't get all his food. I'm sure it's a good product, it just didn't work in our case."

"My dog was inhaling her food and with recommendation from a friend I tried these bowls and they work.....she has slowed down her eating and takes her time. An added tip, add a little bit of water to the food as well and they will enjoy their meal instead of inhaling it."
