"I wanted a pair of boots with the new rubber bottoms and that are easy to take on and off. These new boots filled the bill. At approx. $150, the boots are a good value. They provide great support and good stability while wading. The side zippers make taking off wet boots easier than regular lace boots.They are heavier than I expected but they are brogue's."

Headin for the Coeur d'alen river to fish.
"They are very comfortable. Haven't had them out yet as I just recieved them. The fit is good. Easy on and off. Great for a big guy like myself. And the sale price was great. Replacing the felt would cost around $40 I was told by my shoe guy in town. I look forward to fishing with these quality boots."

"Great boots the first year and then they go down hill really quick. The felt becomes separated from the main boot rendering them useless. I expect boots of this price to last until the felt wears out. The felt on these boots will fall off long before it wears out. Spikes also come out really easily. I hope Orvis gets it worked out because these not the quality I have come to expect."

"I bought these after a competitors boot failed for the second time in 3 years, anticipating the benefits of easy on zippering. Once on I love them. Great support and comfort even when walking (and some times running). They have held me steady in some high water wadding (when perhaps I shouldn't have been) and the studs give awesome grip on surfaces that would have bothered me in the past. I have only had them one season so I am hoping the problems encountered by other reviewers with studs will not occur. Certainly there is no sign yet. The zippers however are a bugger. Very hard to close and took way from the easy on promise. Obviously they have to be sturdy, but these are "some tough" to close."

"I love these boots. Easy on, easy off and very comfortable. I don't know that there's anything left to say except I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy them. They're relatively new so I haven't had any problems with the studs or the felt as previous reviewers mentioned. But, in general, my experience with Orvis is that they provide high quality products and, on the few occasions that I have had problems, they went out of their way to solve the problem, quickly. I have always felt that Orvis goes above and beyond when it comes to keeping their customers happy and satisfied. But, back to the boots.. Love 'em!!"

"I have had these boots for less then 3 years and was very pleased for the first season. The zippers have been a bit of a pain at times but once you know how to get them past the cuffs, no problems. The soles are a different issue altogether. Most of studs have come off after year 2 and the felt soles are now seperating from the boots after this season. The upper part of the boot is great and has held up much better then the buisness end. I channel my OCD by looking after my gear so I would expect more field testing was needed to be completed prior to these boots hitting the market. For what the boots cost I would expect a more reliable product."

"This wading boot is fantastic..great support,good felt sole, extremely easy to put on and take off.. i prefer lacing each time and the clasping top eyelet works great for holding the laces tight for a snug fit. a tremendous value for and inexpensive boot that stands up to any other manufacturer or design..thanks orvis"

"The boots themselves are good, and I like the zipper, but it must be wet to close properly. Here's the problem. The boots are still in great shape, but the points in the studs have fallen out. I bought the boots only because I was looking for maximum traction in a slippery stream I fish, but now the dealer tells me there is nothing that can be done about the studs. To me, this is a serious defect in the product. I am not about to buy another pair after just two seasons. Do all studs fall apart?"

"The boots are easy to put on, light, comfortable and supportive. My only negative is that the rubber sole is slippery when on rocks. The studs seem not to be protuding enough to make any diference."

"I purchased a pair of these boots about a year ago now. I fished them hard for about 100+days. The side zipper worked better than expected but does tend to get stuck and hard to pull up without threading the boot lace through the zipper hole and pulling up to zip. The easy on/off zipper still makes these boots worth the purchase even with the hang ups. The most disappointing feature of these boots were the studded felt soles, half of the studds are gone and the others very loose, not worth the extra cash! The boot over-all is a pleasure to fish in, with great support and sure footing."

"Bought a pair of these with the sticky rubber stud sole. Excellent traction. The zipper on the ankle makes an easy on/easy off boot and the lacing system is also easy. The boot provides excellent ankle support and you feel it as you zip it up. Good room inside the boot for your waders without pinching your foot....appreciated in cold water streams/season. This boot is a tremendous improvement, is fairly lightweight, has no issue with sand intrusion, and is priced very reasonably compared to anything close in quality. Very happy with this boot and a redesign that was very well done."
