The Waverly Waistcoat

The Waverly Waistcoat

The waistcoat or vest is one of the few pieces of clothing whose origin historians can date precisely. King Charles II introduced the waistcoat as a part of correct dress during the Restoration of the British monarchy. Woven in Scotland, the distinctive tweed is nicely framed by English moleskin trim and full leather buttons. Wool knit back is light and warm, but breathes for comfort. Two exterior pockets and a straight-cut bottom. Wool vest for men in brown. Pure wool. Dry clean. Imported. Sizes: M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52).

"very handsome well made vest. Goes well with light colored shirts, including browns (nice, wrinkle free Orvis shirts!). Material has substantial feel to it, but it is not overly heavy and is fine for 3 seasons (or year round if you live in Maine!). It is somewhat dressy, and can go well with chinos, but looks best with casual work clothes, or even jeans. The material is very impressive."
