"I can't say enough about any wooly bugger-style fly. I prefer orange to chartreuse, and I know other colours work."

"This is one of those patterns that stands a near-equal chance of getting picked up by a fish both when it is being retrieved and when it is being dead drifted. It is being effectively fished whenever it is in the water. I caught nine browns last week on this pattern; six while stripping it back, and 3 while I was allowing it to sink. The biggest was a 19" brown that took it less than two seconds after it hit the water. I didn't even notice he picked it up until I saw the belly of my line moving gloriously upstream! Fish are programmed to see egg patterns and regardless of the time of year, seem to never completely forget them."

"I use this fly all the time and I still catch a bunch of browns. I carry these all the time. You should carry these in your box."

"I love this rendition for nice steelhead in British Columbia. I have two patterns in my fly box and this is one of them."
