"I bought this to act more as a pillow than as a toy, since it's as big as my Corgi at this point. He likes it well enough...and when he's a little bigger, it may become a toy.
Please note, this toy does contain a squeaker, but it's hard to locate and requires a bit of force to make it squeak. :)"

"I bought this for my lab, but my mom and I love it just as much. It is firm, so it makes a good neck pillow. I will have to get my mom her own.
The really large size of this bone makes it fun to cuddle with and carry around. It does not have legs like stuffed animals, so there is less that "just has" to be torn off.
I really like this bone and consider it an excellent stuffed purchase."

"I have been purchasing these bones for years at Christmas - our labs LOVE them! They pack them around like a security blanket and always sleep with them. They hold up well! I was disappointed last Christmas when I discovered Orvis wasn't carrying them anymore so was delighted to see them carrying them again this year. Thanks Orvis!"

"After several years and lots of wear and tear, we decided it was time to replace Callie's "pacifer". As you can see in the picture, she holds the bone just so and then rests her mouth on the end of the bone. She is a live-wire dog and this toy just seems to soothe her. It has been her favorite toy for as long as I can remember (she's 6 years old, and I probably have purchased 3 for her). I was so sad to see it taken off of the site a few years ago. Our last bone was after 18 months at least finally coming apart on the ends, and I just got on the internet to try to find some kind of replacement (we've tried others and none have compared!). What a great surprise to find this bone back on the site. Please don't EVER quit selling it! I think I'll buy 6 just in case!!!"

"I found the giant Wooly Chew Bone on the Orvis site about 3 years ago and purchased one for my female golden and one for my male lab/golden. They LOVED them. In fact, they loved them to death, but Orvis stopped selling them for awhile. I tried to find a replacement, but nothing matched the quality and my "kids" were bone-less for about a year. I was thrilled to see them back on the site and purchased 4! It was like Christmas when they arrived and the dogs got their new bones. It is their favorite thing to bring to the door to greet friends and family and I often find them asleep with their heads on them. They also run around chasing each other for the one that the other has. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a golden or lab or big dog that likes to carry around things. You will not be disappointed!"

"Labradors get bored quickly and frequently. My Labrador is no exception. When she was 4 months old, I purchased two Wooly Chew Bones from Orvis. Little did I know this toy would eliminate 99% of her boredom. She carries it with her from room to room, uses it as a pillow when she naps, and uses it to bat her soccer balls across the great room. I call this game of hers "Wooly Bone Ball". She gives me the soccer ball, grabs her "bat", and backs up four feet from me awaiting my pitch. She then "bats" her soccer ball with her Wooly Chew Bone. The bonus is she plays "Wooly Bone Ball" by herself hours out of the day. Yes, as with all toys this one wears out. But, it took her more than a year of abusive play to wear out this toy. I have mended a few broken stitches and small holes from time to time, but no more than I have the rest of her stuffed toys. This is a very durable and practical toy. And, I have just purchased two more of these toys for her. Orvis, please don't drop this toy from your inventory. I don't know how she (and I) would live with out the Wooly Chew Bone. Long live the Wooly Chew Bone and "Wooly Bone Ball"."

"I purchased this toy for my Rotweiller mix for Christmas, as well as one of your cat toys for my cat. The dog loves his bone, but he left it on the floor close to where the cat likes to sleep. Kitty has decided that this is the most comfortable thing he's ever had for laying against. Right now they're doing quite well sharing the bone, but I may have to get another one so that each of them has one. The cat toy has gone over very well also, (just for the cat though.)"

"My 3-year-old Beagle mix loves this bone. He weighs 30 lbs and the bone is as big as he is so it is hilarious to see him drag it around the house. When he is feeling energetic, he tosses the bone around and wrestles with it. We keep the bone on his dog bed because, when he is tired, the bone also functions as his pillow...he loves to curl up with it. We have had the bone for a few months now and it is still in great shape (our dog is not a huge chewer but he has managed to destroy a couple of other stuffed toys)."

Maddie "suckling" her bone....
"Maddie, our 4-year old golden retriever treasures her big bone. She carries it when feeling energetic and drags it when feeling tired. Mostly though, she "suckles" on the ends as if it was a pacifier. We are convinced it is her "security" bone. I keep an extra bone in the closet in case something happens....and when we travel, the bone travels, tool. The bones last a long time at our house...and mainly have to be replaced due to excessive "suckling" over time. Please don't ever remove this item from your catalog!"

"Our Golden Retriever absolutely loves this toy! She brings it to bed at night, carries it around with her, uses it as a pillow...it serves as a "pacifier" for her. She'll chew on it for awhile and then, all of a sudden, keel over and take a nap. We have gone through 2 or 3 now and I have had to patch them up on occasion, but the product is still well worth it!"

"I BOUGHT 3 OF THESE TOYS LAST YEAR. ONE FOR MY DOG AND ONE FOR EACH OF MY DAUGHTERS DOGS. THE DOGS ABSOLUTELY LOVED THEM.....AT LEAST FOR A SHORT TIME. WITHIN 15 MINUTES MY OLDEST DAUGHTERS DOG HAD IT RIPPED TO SHREADS, HOWEVER SHE IS PART PIT BULL. MY YOUNGER DAUGHTERS DOG IS A BOXER AND IT TOOK HER ALL OF 1/2 HOUR TO TEAR HERS UP. AND MY DOG IS A 20 POUND MIXED POODLE AND SHE MANAGED TO DESTROY HERS IN AN HOUR. LIKE I SAID, ALL THE DOGS LOVED THE BONES, BUT THEY DID NOT LAST AS LONG AS I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD."

"I was so excited when I read the reviews about this toy. I have two mixed breed dogs, smaller then labs, but just as active. They are big chewers. These bones lasted about a month before they were able to rip a hole in the side to get to the stuffing. But, considering all other plush toys have lasted no more then an hour, I consider my money well spent. Unfortunately, we had to take the toys away and the dogs moped and whined for the bones for several weeks. They were great while they lasted."
