Starlite Leach Fly

The heavily weighted leech fly pattern with dumbbell eyes quickly gets down to where the fish are; the hook rides point up, which reduces getting snagged on bottom. Ideal fly for fishing spawning rivers where fish are on the bottom, and not looking up. This leech fly pattern gets in their face, and stays there. Colors Red/Black, Chartreuse, Pink, Purple.Leech fly in sizes: 2, 4.

"The Starlight Leech is one of those must-have patterns for steelhead, salmon, or Alaska/Kamchatka trout. As with the Adams and Royal Wulff for trout fishing, this fly is a necessity. Buy them in several colors, and you will not be disappointed. Not only is it very durable, and is tied on a fish-friendly hook, it casts easily single handed, unlike some creations that feel like you are casting a wading sock. A handful of these, some Clouser minnows, and a couple of Bombers are all you need anywhere north of 44'40" worldwide."

"A starlite leach fly in pink closely followed by purple and chartuuse was my best steelhead fly for 2009.
The weight made it perfect for swinging a fly in a moderately fast river fishing with a 2 hand rod. I didn't have to add any weight and it lightly bounced down the river on a typical two handed rod cast and produced many good steelhead for me."
